  • Meet the Music Director

Dan Allcott is the new ORCMA music director and conductor of the Oak Ridge Symphony Orchestra and Chorus for the 2010-2011 season. I'm Dan Allcott, and I am preparing for my third season as music director and conductor of the Oak Ridge Symphony Orchestra and Chorus. The theme for the 2012-2013 season is Tennessee--Sounds Good to Me. We'll be presenting not only classical music, such as Beethoven's Fifth Symphony, but also music performed by or composed by Tennesseans. One of the composers, Rachel Fogarty, is the daughter of a nuclear engineer at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. We will hear solos from soprano Sabrina Laney Warren of Nashville, who is a rising opera star. We will also witness the performances of organist Malcolm Matthews and dulcimerist Stephen Seifert. Four members of ORSO have formed a string quartet and will perform a chamber concert.

We are so excited to bring another season of professional quality music performances to the greater Oak Ridge community. Now in our 66th season, the Oak Ridge Civic Music Association continues its commitment to enhancing the community's cultural life while connecting with the music that is the pride of our state and world beyond. The most important connection, however, is with you!
