About the Artists

The Ibis Camerata brings together four internationally acclaimed musicians of the new generation. Coming from different corners of the world, each one of them possesses a distinct remarkable musical personality. Formed under the auspices of the University of Miami's Frost School of Music in 2001, they have garnered much attention with audiences and critics in their home base of Miami, Florida and around the world. Their unique ensemble enables them to command a much more varied repertoire than the traditional piano trio, allowing them to perform rarely heard classical masterpieces, works by contemporary composers and non-conventional repertoire such as tango and jazz. They have been recognized as one of North America's premier young ensembles by some of the world's top chamber musicians including the Paris Trio, the Guarneri Quartet and the Klichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trio. The Ibis Camerata has given critically acclaimed performances in many cities in the United States, Canada, Serbia, Italy, Switzerland and Russia. They have performed at such world-renowned festivals as the Aspen Music Festival, the Hampton-Sydney Music Festival and the White Nights Music Festival in St. Petersburg, Russia. Their debut album on Albany Records will be released at the end of 2006.
