The Korsmeyer Endowment

This performance by the Prairie Winds Quintet is underwritten by funding from the Korsmeyer Endowment. Lynn and Richard Korsmeyer were residents of Oak Ridge beginning in 1945. Lynn studied piano at the Juilliard School of Music and was a frequent performer at early Coffee Concerts sponsored by ORCMA. She also served as President of the ORCMA Guild. She died in 1992. Lynn's husband Richard worked as an engineer at Union Carbide Nuclear Division until his retirement in 1971. After his retirement, he was active in many volunteer projects in Oak Ridge until his death in 1988.
The endowment was established in 1995 by the Korsmeyer children, Carolyn and Richard, as a tribute to their mother and father and to their parents' love of music. Each season, one Chamber Series performance is supported by the Endowment. The fund has recently been enhanced by the addition of matching funds.
