Symphony: For 57 years, a Mecca for dedicated musicians

ORCMA New Strategic Plan 2005-2008
The Oak Ridge Symphony was founded 55 years ago as an
avocational cultural outlet. It is the oldest continuously performing symphony in
the state of Tennessee. ORCMA
has been a cultural pillar of Oak Ridge for almost 50 years.
Symphony, chorus and chamber music series are available in a
comfortable, intimate environment. Talented and entertaining guest artists
perform in all three series. Besides the three
main series, ORCMA offers Coffee Concerts
where local performers can show their talents. ORCMA provides an umbrella for the
musical artistry of its community. ORCMA groups interact actively with
local school systems and sponsors an annual Young People's Music
Competition. Winners perform with the symphony.
