The 2023 Summer Camp was a tremendous success!  Thank you to students, parents, teachers, special guests, volunteers, and Oak Ridge Schools! Be watching for details on the 2024 camp anticipated for June 3–June 7, 2024.

 

Who: Rising 5th–9th grade students playing violin, viola, cello, or string bass

What: A fun and educational week learning and experiencing music!

When: Monday, June 5th, 2023 through Friday, June 9th, 2023

Times: 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon, daily

Where:  Willow Brook Elementary School, 298 Robertsville Road, Oak Ridge 

Experience:  School orchestra class is preferred, but no previous experience or instrument is required.

Cost:  FREE!

The 2nd Annual Adolf King Summer Strings Camp, directed by Martha Damiano, is part of ORCMA's commitment to youth education. Offering FREE private lessons by professional musicians, the camp is unique to the greater Knoxville area and addresses community engagement, relevance, representation, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Students will experience the special treat of learning music with ORCMA's Music Director Régulo Stabilito!

During the week, students will be provided snacks daily, and will:
· Participate in small or large ensembles
· Learn music theory basics
· Acquire critical listening skills
· Participate in a finale performance.  

The camp closes with a special live performance by professional musicians and a pizza party!  Email ORCMA's Executive Director Lisa Muci Eckhoff at lisa@orcma.org with questions, or to sign up!
