It's time to do the math. If you were to attend five ORSO-Chorus concerts and buy a single ticket at the door each time, the cost to you would be 5 x $25, or $125. If you became a new subscriber, you would pay $100 for five concerts, for a savings of $25. If you decided to attend all six Chamber Music concerts and buy single tickets for each concert, the total cost would be 6 x $25, or $150. By becoming a new subscriber at a cost of $100 and attending all six concerts, you would save $50.
If you should decide to attend all 11 concerts and buy single tickets to each one, you would pay a total of $275. By subscribing for the first time to the combined ORSO-Chorus-Chamber series, you would pay only $180 for 11 concerts, for a savings of $95.
If you also choose to subscribe to two Isotone concerts, you will pay $25; that's a savings of $10 because single tickets cost $17.50 apiece, or a total of $35. So now you will have a great year of music, attending 13 concerts and saving $105. (Adults renewing their subscriptions will save $55 for the combined series and $65 for 13 concerts, for a savings of $5 per concert.)
And remember, parking is free at Oak Ridge concert venues-not necessarily the case at major metropolitan concert halls. If you assume big-city parking will cost you $10 per concert and you are planning to attend 13 big-city concerts, that's a savings of another $130 for choosing world-class music, music played by a predominantly professional orchestra, and a highly original concert series with a scientific flavor, in a Tennessee city of 30,000 people.
