Oak Ridge Youth Orchestra
Open to students in Oak Ridge and surrounding areas, the Oak Ridge Youth Orchestra is about growing together through music! We’re here to help young musicians build skills, confidence, and friendships through fun, challenging rehearsals and exciting performances.

Audition Information
📅 Date: Saturday, September 6, 2025
🕙 Time: 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

📝 Registration Deadline: August 22, 2025
💵 Audition Fee: $10 per student
Once registrations are in, we will email back out audition times.
💰 Participation Fees

Annual Fee: $125 per student

Sibling Discount: $50 off for each additional student
Who Can Participate
The Oak Ridge Youth Symphony is open to students in grades 5–12 from Oak Ridge and surrounding areas with at least one year of instrumental experience.

If your school offers orchestra, we kindly ask that you be enrolled in that program as well.

Private lessons are encouraged to support your growth, but they are not required to participate.

🎶 Two Orchestras, One Amazing Experience
For the 2025–2026 season, ORYAC will feature two orchestras to meet students where they are in their musical journey:

Intermediate Orchestra (Name TBD)
For students with 1–2 years of playing experience. -
Advanced Orchestra (Name TBD)
For students with 3 or more years of experience, ready for more challenging repertoire and leadership opportunities.

For students with 3+ years of experience.
🎻 Audition Requirements
Intermediate Orchestra:

1–2 minute solo piece (student’s choice; no orchestral excerpts/ not one of your orchestra pieces)

Select a 1-octave scale: C, G, A, or D major

Sight Reading
Advanced Orchestra:

1–2 minute solo piece (student’s choice; no orchestral excerpts/ not one of your orchestra pieces )
