Jackson Alderman
Viola
Originally from southern Maryland, Jackson Alderman is a dedicated educator and performer. He began playing the viola in the third grade and in high school, enrolled at the Peabody Preparatory of the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, Maryland. Jackson went on to receive his B.M. in music education at West Virginia University where he studied with Andrea Houde. He then attended the University of Tennessee to study with Hillary Herndon where he received his M.M. in viola performance with a certificate in music theory pedagogy.
Jackson currently substitutes for many of the major ensembles in the Knoxville area including the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, the Knoxville Opera Company, the Amadeus Concert Ensemble, the Oak Ridge Symphony Orchestra, the Johnson City Symphony Orchestra, and the Brevard Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also participated in many summer festivals including the Brevard Summer Music Institute, the National Music Festival, and the AIMS in Graz Festival in Graz, Austria.
