Martha Damiano
Clarinet
I received my BS in Music Education from East Tennessee State University. During the summers while in college I attended Interlochen in Michigan for six weeks every summer, I played in the college orchestra, and studied with Sidney Forrest from the Peabody Conservatory. On completion of my first degree I started working on my Masters in Clarinet Performance at U.T. Knoxville and studied with William Scarlett. I played 1st Clarinet in the UT Orchestra and 2nd Clarinet in the Knoxville Symphony. During this time I also studied in New York with Kalmen Opperman from the Hartt School of Music.
I spent most of my teaching career teaching Band and Orchestra for Oak Ridge Schools. I was also Woodwinds Instructor at Maryville College and one year at Knoxville College.
In 2000 I performed then Mozart Clarinet Concerto with the Oak Ridge Symphony.
I have work on my Doctorate from University of Iowa
I also spent six summers in Austria and Hungary playing clarinet in the Classical Music Seminar in Eisenstadt, Austria.
