Joe Jordan

Trumpet, Piccolo Trumpet, Flugelhorn

Joe Jordan has been performing on trumpet and flugelhorn in the Knoxville region upon moving to the area in 2010. He has a bachelor's degree in music education from MTSU, and a Master's degree in jazz performance from the University of Tennessee. Mr. Jordan has been active in performance and education. As a teacher Mr. Jordan teaches for Knox county schools, Pellissippi State Community College, the University of the Cumberlands, and the Joy of music school. He also works with middle and high school age students on trumpet performance. His students have gone on to win numerous auditions and scholarships. As a performer he is active in the local music scene playing with jazz bands including the streamliners and Knoxville Jazz Orchestra, as well as local commercial bands and artists. Mr. Jordan also performs with the Grammy-nominated Husband and wife duo "The War and Treaty" since 2019, which has seen him play in numerous festivals, venues, television shows, award shows and tours around the US including the New Orleans Jazz and heritage festival, "Bottlerock" festival, Radio City Music Hall, The Late show with Stephen Colbert, The Kelly Clarkson show, The Americana Awards, People's Choice Country Music awards, among many others. He can be heard on their 3rd and 5th albums, "Heart's town" and "Plus One", and is featured on the tracks "Little Boy Blue" and "Carried Away".
