Laura Kristoff

Cello

With a career of over 30 years, Laura Kristoff is a Cellist with vast experience as a performer, having earned a few prizes for solo and chamber music, and worked as principal cellist and soloist for several orchestras and ensembles in Brazil and the USA. In 2009 Laura was selected to be part of an orchestra to represent the USA in a big event in Takayama, Japan.

Laura earned her B.M. in Cello Performance at the University of São Paulo – USP (Brazil) with Dr. Robert Suetholz, a specialization in Cello Education and Performance at Indiana University – IU with Emilio Colon, Helga Winold, Janos Starker, and Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, and a M.M. focused on Cello Performance at the University of Florida – UF with Dr. Steven Thomas.

Laura has worked as an Assistant cello teacher at USP, USM (University of Southern Mississippi) and UF, and worked as Adjunct Professor of Cello and Chamber Music at the Federal University of Uberlandia (Brazil).
Laura also held concerts and recordings of popular Music and did some theater and cinema performances as well. In 2010 she premiered a Cello Concerto written for her by Brazilian composer E. Villani-Côrtes at the University of Florida with the UF Chamber Orchestra.

Established in Tennessee since 2012, Laura had her own “Studio Musicalis” in Cookeville, TN for five years, having closed it in 2021. She has also played a few concerts with local orchestras in Cookeville, Crossville, Nashville, and Bowling Green, KY.

Currently, Laura is part of the Oak Ridge Symphony Orchestra, Oak Ridge Philharmonia, and Trio A La Carte (Crossville, TN).
