Lizzy Lim
Viola
Lizzy Lim has been a musician since she was in 5th grade. Started off with trumpet in 5th grade
and didn’t play the violin until her 6th grade year and addition to viola in 8th grade.
She’s been doing both band and orchestra during her school career till college except for
marching band season in fall semesters. She graduated from University of Tennessee, Knoxville
with UT FUTURE Postsecondary Vocational Program and Applied Music in Minor and Middle
Tennessee State University in Bachelor of Science for Integrated Studies.
Since graduating in 2022 from college, she’s been working at various places since after college
like Panda Express, Subway, Crumbl Cookies, Kroger Bakery Department and Pick-Up Online
Order Department, Disney World for Disney College Program and as of right now she’s currently
working at Lowe’s as a part time worker.
She’s doing varieties of ensembles such as community orchestra with Maryville College
Orchestra as an assistant concertmaster, Scruffy City Orchestra as principal viola, Knoxville
Sinfonietta in the core viola section and substitute position for Oak Ridge Symphony Orchestra
for both violin and viola.
She’s played a total of 16 musical instruments but violin and viola are her top two and it’s been
her passion since middle school career while she’s born half-deaf in her left ear but nothing
stops her with music that she loves and has a hearing aid to help her with improvements. She
went to various summer music festivals such as Tennessee’s Governor School for the Arts,
Sewanee Summer Music Festival, Eastern Music Festival, Brevard Music Festival and
Heartland Chamber Music Festival. Her other amazing main skill is that she did marching band
on trumpet for 9 years.
Outside of music and work life, she’s an auntie with her wonderful niece and nephew to take
care of and play with them, spending time with family, enjoys relaxing during her free time, doing
jigsaw puzzles, playing Nintendo Switch, and enjoys traveling, especially traveling to Singapore
to visit her family
