Lizzy Lim

Viola

Lizzy Lim began her musical journey in 5th grade on trumpet before discovering her passion for violin in 6th grade and viola in 8th grade. She performed in both band and orchestra throughout school and later studied at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and Middle Tennessee State University. Since graduating in 2022, she has worked in a variety of positions while continuing to stay active as a musician.

Lizzy currently performs with several ensembles, serving as assistant concertmaster of the Maryville College Orchestra, principal viola of Scruffy City Orchestra, a core violist with the Knoxville Sinfonietta, and a substitute violinist and violist with the Oak Ridge Symphony Orchestra. She has attended notable summer programs including Governor’s School for the Arts, Sewanee, Eastern, Brevard, and Heartland.

Born half-deaf in her left ear, Lizzy continues to pursue music with passion and dedication. Outside of music, she enjoys spending time with family, puzzles, Nintendo Switch, and traveling—especially to Singapore.
