Cameron McKenzie

Tuba

Cameron Mckenzie is currently working to finish a Bachelor’s degree in Tuba Performance at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where he is studying with Dr. Alex Lapins. He has performed with multiple ensembles like the Chattanooga Symphony, the Appalachia Wind Symphony, and the Oak Ridge Symphony. Cameron has also been awarded third place in the Tuba Artist division at the Midwest Tuba/ Euphonium Conference, A finalist in the Student Artist Division at the Southeast Tuba/Euphonium Conference, winner of the University of Tennessee 2024 Concerto Competition, advanced to the semifinal round of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra audition, and was awarded second prize in the International Artists Competition! He has also been able to perform in masterclasses with Daniel Perantoni who is the Professor of Tuba at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, David Saltzman who is the Tuba and Euphonium Instructor at Bowling Green State University, and Denise Tryon who is the Associate Professor of Horn at University of Cincinnati (CCM).
